Our church was established in 1856, and yet, is as contemporary as today's issues.
Our driving force is the calling to be a faith based community where we love God, and our neighbors.
Interim Pastor: R. Cliff Lyda
The First Presbyterian Church of Palatka is temporarily closed for public worship in response to the public health crisis. Our leadership is currently engaged in developing a plan for reopening that includes policies and procedures for hygiene and social distancing that will enable us safely gather as a congregation. We will keep you informed as to when we are able to reopen to public activity.
Please remember that the church is not really closed. Christian faith is not about gathering in a place; it’s about living life connected to God and neighbor, and helping each other do the same.
Just because we can't meet in large groups inside sanctuaries for a time doesn't mean the Church is not alive and well. It's a powerful reminder and creative opportunity for the Church to be what it already is...people who remember and practice that we all belong to God and to each other. God is acting. The Holy Spirit is moving. Christ is with us, and the Church is thriving.
